Indy Lights

The Firestone Indy Lights series is one of the most competitive training ground series around, with equally matched cars that showcase driver talent. The series is the official steppingstone to the IZOD Indycar Series and drivers like Raphael Matos, Townsend Bell and others have gone from Indy Lights champion to the Indy 500.

Most often running as a companion race to the Indycars, the Lights races feature intense battles and often involve three-wide wheel to wheel racing at over 180 miles per hour. Drivers are usually very aggressive and less experienced which can lead to some dramatic shunts, but the cars are designed with the latest safety innovations pioneered in their big brothers, the Indycars.  Every weekend, the eyes of the Indycar fraternity are on these Indy Lights drivers to assess their talents and select the next hot shoe to move up the ladder to race the big cars.

Jay Alley has trained his lenses on these drivers and machines since the very first Freedom 100 at Indianapolis, and captured some of the most exciting images in the series at places like Nashville Superspeedway, Chicagoland and Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. The Indy Lights races are no more than 100 miles in length and run without pit stops, so you will see Jay working the corners wherever they race. He can help promote you as a rising star in the Indycar world.
